Pachauri, who was re-elected the panel’s chairman for a second six-year term last week, said diet change was important because of the huge greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental problems - including habitat destruction - associated with rearing cattle and other animals. It was relatively easy to change eating habits compared to changing means of transport, he said.
When we think about health news, we often think of the stories that describe the successes that modern medicine has created in peoples lives. Modern Doctors have so many resources at their fingertips, from laboratories that are funded by governments and private industries, to world class medical education, research, and up-to-date health information.
In times gone by, medical discoveries were not so easily accomplished. Much of the research was in many ways barbaric, done in less than sanitary conditions and with little to no understanding of the underlying science of good health.
